چکیده
Roche (SIX: RO, ROG; OTCQX: RHHBY) announced today that it has launched the CoaguChek® INRange system in countries accepting the CE Mark. The CoaguChek INRange system is the first Bluetooth enabled PT/INR home health device that helps patients and their healthcare providers (HCPs) have greater control over their coagulation status and the ability to monitor Vitamin K Antagonist (VKA) therapy. Patient selftesting with CoaguChek INRange sets a new standard of care by enabling HCPs to monitor patient PT/INR data, while reducing visits to the lab.

Patients' perspectives on self-testing of oral anticoagulation therapy: Content analysis of patients' internet blogs
BACKGROUND Patients on oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) require regular testing of the prothrombin time (PT) and the international normalised ratio (INR) to monitor their blood coagulation level to avoid complications of either over or under coagulation. PT/INR can be tested by a healthcare professional or by the patient. The latter mode of the testing is known as patient self-testing or home t...

PURPOSE To identify factors that determine patients' intentions to use point-of-care medical devices, ie, portable coagulometer devices for self-testing of the international normalized ratio (INR) required for ongoing monitoring of blood-coagulation intensity among patients on long-term oral anticoagulation therapy with vitamin K antagonists, eg, warfarin. METHODS A cross-sectional study that...

The FDA has become aware of performance problems associated with point of care (POC) Prothrombin Time (PT)/International Normalized Ratio (INR) devices that raise patient safety concerns. Numerous reports of serious adverse events for POC PT/INR devices have been submitted to the FDA. The FDA’s postmarket analysis of these reports indicates that the adverse events appear to be linked to inaccur...

A system for quality assessment (QA) of the CoaguChek (Roche Diagnostics, Mannheim, Germany) point-of-care testing prothrombin time monitor has been developed by the European Concerted Action on Anticoagulation. Hitherto there has not been an adequate rapid method for CoaguChek QA. Sets of 5 certified international normalized ratio (INR) plasma samples were tested on 539 CoaguChek monitors by e...
متن کاملSMART: Self-Management of Anticoagulation, a Randomised Trial [ISRCTN19313375]
BACKGROUND Oral anticoagulation monitoring has traditionally taken place in secondary care because of the need for a laboratory blood test, the international normalised ratio (INR). The development of reliable near patient testing (NPT) systems for INR estimation has facilitated devolution of testing to primary care. Patient self-management is a logical progression from the primary care model. ...
